"How on earth could freediving help me in the office?" You might be asking yourself this very question and while, it's true, the physics, diving technique, and depth adaptation have little relevance, proper breathing, relaxation techniques, lunch-break stretching routines, and controlled apnea (breath holding) can provide a litany of benefits including but not limited to:

There will be a lecture-style portion where we go in depth as to the 'why' behind all this. Pulling from the time-tested practice of meditation, we will expand upon the nature of the mind, how it sabotages us throughout our day-to-day lives at home and in the office, and how to use a variety of methods to bring us back to the present moment.

Much of our time can be spent worrying about future deadlines and looming presentations, or conversely, ruminating about the past and wondering if we did a good enough job, or what edits we should have done, and so on. Both of these - worry and rumination - rob us of our freedom to be fully present with the task at hand and therefore only sabotage our overall performance, be that in the water, at work or at home.

Lecture/Discussion: Further explanation of the techniques we had just used in practice, as well as an in depth discussion of why this practice is so important. We will go over the many benefits and how you can carve out time during your day for stress-management. ​

Wet Course Details

The objective of this course is to show and give examples of the benefits, skills, techniques and safety & problem management for all facets of freediving and to provide an experience with basic level static apnea to a maximum of 2:00min and/or a dynamic apnea of 25m / 82 ft.
